Traumer og stemmehøring

Dissociation, trauma, and the role of lived experience: toward a new conceptualization of voice hearing (sammendrag)

The evidence that VH [voice hearing] is related to adversity and is essentially dissociative in nature is strong. In this article we have proposed that VH, including that in the context of psychotic disorders, may develop as a response to stress exposure whereby individuals dissociate emotional and experiential content. We have therefore argued for clinical approaches that emphasize making sense of VH and consider painful, unresolved life events as precipitating and/or maintaining factors in distress.
